Our Story

Exterior LRE

Mission Statement: Life-long learners will be provided Real world experiences focused on Educating the whole child while connecting the school and community.

Several years ago, 1020 Lake Ridge Parkway and the surrounding area were known as Magic Valley Ranch.  As the population increased in Cedar Hill, housing quickly developed. Lake Ridge Elementary School opened its doors in 2002.   The school was originally known as the Tornadoes, as selected by the student body when it opened.  Today, we stand proud as the Longhorns!

Lake Ridge Elementary is located just minutes away from Joe Pool Lake.  Our zone is south of Beltline Road and west of Clark Road. The school has almost 400 scholars in grades EE-5, including Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), Specialized Knowledge for Individualized Life-Learning (SKILL), and Montessori classes (Primary, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary). PTA and All Pro Dads are our two parent organizations. They coordinate APD Breakfasts, Popcorn Friday, The Candy Shoppe (operated by 5th grade scholars), Grandparents Day, Movie Nights, Spring Dance, Morning Car Line Duty, classroom volunteers, and Teacher Appreciation Week.

Lake Ridge Elementary School strives to be a positive, safe learning environment where scholars are actively engaged and empowered to think critically, communicate effectively, and collaborate respectfully.

It's a great day to be a Longhorn at Lake Ridge Elementary because we know that "The Race for Excellence has No Finish Line."
